It’s a Sunday evening, you’re relaxing in front of the TV with a red wine and suddenly the daunting realisation that you have work tomorrow pops into your head… Urgh. Why is it that the weekend just never seems long enough to completely relax and rejuvenate and Sundays always creep up on us? Understandably, come Monday morning it can be hard to switch our minds back into ‘work-mode’. But never fear, we’ve put together a few tips for mentally preparing yourself for the week ahead…
How many times have you heard someone say how important it is to be organised? Well, it is! Sunday is the perfect time to calmly get organised for the week ahead. Whether that be prepping lunches, organising outfits for the week, getting together any paperwork you need or even writing a note on your fridge to feed your cat. Just get it done today. You will thank yourself later in the week.
2.Remember To Celebrate Your Successes
You got up without hitting the snooze button… congratulations! Applaud your achievements, however small. This will give you a mental boost and motivate you to continue achieving. And, if that doesn’t work, then just remember there’s another weekend right around the corner.
3.Have A Morning Routine
If you struggle to get up, try motivating yourself by organising something to look forward to in the morning. Maybe it’s a quick dip in the pool with your workout buddy, a coffee from your favourite cafe or a brief stroll around the block. By having something to look forward to you’ll be amazed how you can mentally trick yourself into getting up and at ‘em!
4.Take A Break
Have a KitKat? As unusual as it may seem, taking a break when you’re feeling unproductive might be exactly what you need to get motivated again. Sometimes you just need to refresh and reset – stand up from your desk, get some fresh air, even just a couple of minutes will do the trick.
